Kenya & Tanzania
September 2013
First few photos from my trip to Kenya and Tanzania, consisting mostly of wildlife and landscapes.
This is just a little taster of what the final gallery will (hopefully!) look like.

Hold your breath! Red-Billed Oxpecker Bird and African Buffalo seen in the Maasai Mara National Reserve, also known as Masai Mara or simply The Mara, in Kenya.

Lovely sleepy cat A male African lion, whose weight can reach 190 kg, has a well deversed nap in the Maasai Mara National Reserve (Kenya).

Better you than me An African lioness spots something (hopefully not someone!) as she glides elegantly over a rock in the Maasai Mara National Reserve (Kenya).

Peace of mind Nothing like a good nap when you know someone is watching over you. In opposite directions, ideally.

Hippos rock! Pod of hippopotamuses bathing next to a few rocks in the Maasai Mara National Reserve (Kenya). I liked the contrast between the slightly wavy water surface, the hippos' thick skin, and the lifeless rocks.

Giraffe splays its legs as a zebra observes A giraffe splays its legs to drink water in the Maasai Mara National Reserve (Kenya), looking rather annoyed with my presence. I do apologise for my indiscretion but let's be honest, should the zebra had carried a photo camera, it would have snapped a photo as I did.

Would you give me a ride, please? A baby baboon rides on its mother's back in the Tarangire National Park, located in the Manyara region of Tanzania.
